Perimenopause is a time of significant transition, and often challenge, in the lives of women and all those who have experienced menstrual cycles. All evidence now points to early, proactive and ongoing intervention as the best insurance policy for both minimisation of acute symptoms and long-term health outcomes (improved sleep & cognition and reduced all cause morbidity & mortality anyone!?).

In this 3-part, 6 hour masterclass, Rhiannon will take practitioners through everything they need to know to confidently assess and clinically support patients undergoing this transition, and into the future.

Three x 2 hour sessions.

Presented live Tuesdays 11am to 1pm.

📔 1st & 15th August & 5th September 2023.

🎥 Ongoing access to recordings for 24 months.

💬 Access to online discussion group, moderated by Rhiannon, where questions and conversations are welcome.

Session One: Early Beginnings

We now understand the perimenopause window to last for up to a decade, beginning with initial hormone changes in the late 30's or early 40’s (for some individuals even earlier). Evidence indicates earlier intervention is associated with better navigation of this window from both a symptom perspective and for improved long-term health outcomes. This session includes a review of premature ovarian insufficiency/failure (historically termed premature menopause).

Session Two: The Turbulent Years

The acute window of perimenopause usually lasts for a couple of years, characterised by hormonal fluctuations, often resulting in significant shifts in symptomatology. Hot flushes, significant mood lability, depression & anxiety, migraines, menstrual cycle irregularity, heavy menstrual bleeding, cognition challenges and insomnia are all characteristic of this time.

Session Three: Long Term Management

In the postmenopausal years women and all those who have menstruated are best assured of positive long term health outcomes if particular attention is paid to risk mitigation in regards to bone, cardiovascular, adrenal, metabolic and brain health.

On completion of this course practitioners will be confident in:

🌟  Hormone pathology assessment: from markers of early changes, to perimenopause fluctuations, through to the post menopausal picture.

🌟 Identifying markers in general pathology indicative of long term risk for bone density issues.

🌟 Identifying clinical signs & symptoms that act as early indicators of pending change & long term risk.

🌟 Key clinical strategies for optimising hormones through perimenopause.

🌟 Supporting patients before they're even aware symptoms may be related to perimenopause changes.

🌟 Implementing the most effective interventions for symptom management including hot flushes, mood changes, insomnia, libido issues, migraines, heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB), cognition challenges & genitourinary symptoms.

🌟 Clinical strategies for assessing & optimising metabolic, cardiovascular, bone, brain, thyroid and adrenal health specific to perimenopause and beyond.

🌟 Understanding menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), including safety, indications, efficacy, forms and safe & effective coprescription of herbal & nutritional medicines.

Rhiannon has been in busy clinical practice specialising in all things hormone and fertility since 2005. With a focus largely on complex infertility, Rhiannon has supported countless women and individuals as they’ve struggled to navigate premature ovarian failure and perimenopause whilst also attempting to conceive, as well as those who have successfully conceived later in their reproductive years and go on to experience menopause soon after the birth of their child.

She brings this unique perspective to the education she provides around perimenopause and menopause, with both an unusually detailed insight into the hormonal changes typical of this time, as well as a skilled capacity for clinical optimisation of health and hormones for fertility… which also results in symptom management and improved long term health outcomes.
